Kara graduated from CU Boulder in 2015 with a BA in Dance and an emphasis in Sociology. She has a very diverse background. She grew up as a gymnast and an acrobat, which is why she is most comfortable upside-down or on her hands. During college she has worked with a wide range of well-known choreographers and is currently professionally dancing for Rennie Harris’ Hip-Hop company called Grass Roots Project. This company focuses on hip-hop for a social cause and performs authentic hip hop styles such as: house, popping, locking, breaking, and social dance moves. She has taught at many studios teaching acrobatics, tumbling, and multiple styles within hip-hop. She also is a part of a strong non-profit organization called Queenz of Hip-Hop. Currently she teaches at Dual Star Academy of Dance, Premier School of Dance, and The Boys and Girls Club. With her strength and experience, and creatively adding movement to a rock climbing wall has developed a whole new passion for her. She loves being a part of Ascendance and is looking forward to continuing to exemplify her expressive movement in a new way.
